I’m Ren Wong, a digital visual artist phasing between tradition and modernity.
Rooted in the classical painting process, my work embraces the tried-and-true techniques of the old masters while drawing from both contemporary and historical influences—ranging from manga and video games to the erratic, rebellious spirit of Expressionism.In a world that shifts faster than strobe lights, where meaning can feel slippery, it urges me to create with a loose intention: to document subjects in all their chaotic glory, incongruity, and electrifying humanity.Right now, my practice revolves around portraiture. I’d describe my process as pulling apart a subject and reassembling them—over and over again—until their visage begins to take shape; the once disorganized pieces start to form some semblance of orderliness, with it comes the emergence of something tangible. It’s a contemplative exercise that feels almost surgical: a strange juxtaposition of analytical detachment and fervent craftsmanship.

I'm a professional art tutor and digital art illustrator with 4 years experience working with a vast range of students and clients. It's made me realize how artmaking is deeply personal and, in many ways, magical. Every artist has a spark within them—that moment of wonder, glittering imagination and pure joy. My duty as an art tutor is to nurture that spark, help students develop their skills, and most importantly keep the magic of creating art alive.Oftentimes, beginning the digital art journey can feel confusing, overwhelming, and even isolating.
Trying to wade through millions of tutorials online without direction, ending up with random bits of information that might only leave you frustrated and more lost than before.
